The next General Election for the City of Punta Gorda will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The seats scheduled for election in 2025 are City Council Districts 3 and 5. As there was no opposition for District 3, Deborah Lux was elected at the end of qualifying. As both Melissa Lockhart and Bill Page qualified for District 5, they will proceed to the General Election.
Elections are nonpartisan. Only opposed candidate races for City Council seats will appear on the ballot. If two candidates qualify for a single City Council district, a general election will be held. If more than two candidates qualify for a single City Council district, a primary election will also be held to determine which candidates will succeed to the general election. All registered electors residing in the City eligible to vote in all City district races.
