Plant Tours

The City of Punta Gorda Utilities Department invites residents to tour our treatment facilities, offering an exclusive glimpse into the water and wastewater treatment processes. The tours will be quarterly and will rotate between the Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment Facilities.

During a visit to the Shell Creek treatment facilities, participants will explore the Shell Creek reservoir, Hendrickson dam, Shell Creek Surface Water Treatment Plant, and the Shell Creek Reverse Osmosis Plant. This tour provides the opportunity to see our treatment plant operators in action and understand how water is produced and distributed within our community.

 At the City of Punta Gorda Wastewater Treatment facilities, visitors can expect to tour the Wastewater Treatment Plant, see treatment plant operators in action, and gain insights into how wastewater is processed and biosolids disposal.

Please note that tour spots are extremely limited and must be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are advised to wear closed-toed shoes and be prepared for a walking tour, predominantly outdoors.
